Stanley Kubrick made his fair share of polarizing films, but perhaps none have had a greater shift in reception than The Shining. While the movie struggled at the box office and was reviled by critics at the time of its release, it has gone on to receive monumental praise and is widely considered to be one of the best horror films ever made.
